#talk2mebro group sessions

EMPOWERING MEN TO TAKE CONTROL.

#talk2mebro was created to help reduce the number of men who commit suicide. Our unique early intervention group sessions aim to create change before men reach their breaking point by encouraging conversation and challenging their ideas around suicide and help-seeking. Participants are educated on the importance of taking control of their mental health and the importance of checking in with their mates.

Run by our trained male facilitators, our group sessions create a safe environment for the male participants to learn more about suicide and mental health. They are encouraged to  join in the healthy discussion around how to open up and talk about what they are dealing with, as well as check in on their mates. Some of the topics covered include:

  • Myths about Suicide
  • Statistics on Suicide in Australia
  • How to have tough conversations with friends
  • How to take control of your metal wellbeing
  • The importance of developing a “Mental Toolbox” and how to use it

Group sessions run for 75-90 minutes and have proven to be a successful outlet for males to understand that they are not alone in their struggles, and that there is no weakness in opening up about what they are going through, and seeking help where necessary. Participants are provided with the tools to safely and confidentially seek professional help when they need it.

#talk2mebro have facilitated hundreds of male-only group sessions within High Schools, Sporting Clubs, Workplaces and other Community Interest Groups.
