We have officially opened registrations for Stride to Survive 2026, our major annual fundraising campaign running throughout May. The month-long movement challenge invites individuals, families, workplaces and community groups to walk, run or move in support of suicide prevention, and help fund and expand the free community services that are changing and saving lives across the country.

Each year, an estimated 55,000 Australians attempt to take their life.Stride to Survive sets a collective movement goal of 55,000 km — one kilometre for every one of those people. Participants sign up through our Stride to Survive page, set a personal distance goal, log their kilometres throughout May, andraise funds from their networks to help Talk2MeBro reach a collective $100,000fundraising target.

Special ‘Social Stride’ events are planned to take place in various locations across the country, including a special launch event in Newcastle, taking place in collaboration with café, First Light Café on Saturday 2 May.

Every dollar raised goes directly into expanding our free community catch-ups, providing casual, accessible, face-to-face spaces wherereal conversations about mental health and wellbeing can happen. Last year, we reached more than 50,000 people through these catch-ups, and the organisation is determined to bring them to more communities across Australia, including regional, rural and underserved areas where mental health support canbe hardest to find.

"Stride to Survive is about more than kilometres and fundraising targets,” said Director, Luke Conners.

“It's about showing up for people who are struggling, building connection, and providing spaces for our communities where they don't have to face their hardest days alone. When we move together for a cause like this, itsends a message that people can't ignore."

Registration is now open. Those who make a first donation of $100 or more at registration will receive a free Stride to Survive 2026 T-shirt.

Nine Australians die by suicide every day. Stride to Survive 2026 is a chance to be part of changing that, one kilometre at a time.
