Talk2MeBro is expanding its mental health and suicide prevention programs to Lake Macquarie, launching its first regular Community Catchup at Speers Point Park on Saturday 2 November.

The organisation has been delivering programs, events, and workshops throughout the Hunter region since 2019, but this represents the first ongoing Catchup program specifically established for the Lake Macquarie community.

Talk2MeBro's reach across the Newcastle region has grown significantly, with the organisation supporting over 50,000 people through face-to-face programs over the past year. With 50 trained local facilitators, Talk2MeBro now delivers more than 60 free community events annually, working alongside councils, schools, workplaces, gyms, and sporting clubs to foster safe spaces for meaningful mental health conversations.

"The impact we've witnessed from these regular catchups in Newcastle and surrounding areas has been remarkable, and we're thrilled to extend that community connection to Lake Macquarie," said Director, Luke Conners.

"Our vision centres on making mental health support easily accessible to everyone. By expanding our Newcastle events to more areas, such as Lake Macquarie and recently Maitland, we aim to create an Australia where residents can access genuine support and connection without leaving their local area."

The Catchups will provide residents with mental health support through relaxed conversation, breathwork exercises, and connection in a safe, non-judgmental environment, allowing participants to find solace in knowing they are not alone in their journey. All community members are welcome to attend.
